I made a promise that if the #12DaysOfGiving campaign managed to raise at least $2000 in support of our Day 5 featured charity (National Autism Association), I would dye my hair blue.
(I pretended that this was a big chore on my part - for the kids - but really I was excited to do this... I haven't had my hair blue since high-school)
Well, it took a little bit of creativity at the last moment (read this post if you want to guess), but we raised over $2100 for the National Autism Association... and an amazing total of $13,831 for all 12 charities involved. Well done everyone, thank you so much for being involved!
I did it... I Dyed It Blue
With some help from my good friend Andrea Robin, I managed to meet an amazing (and super generous) stylist named John at Sets on Fort who did an amazing job on making my hair blue.

Meet Dennis Crowley, our featured social good superstar for Day 2 of the #12DaysOfGiving challenge.
His Twitter profile (@dens) says simply:

When I started the Social Media Adventure way back in the early days, I threw a few shirts & shorts into the trunk of my car and hit the highway to meet my online friends in person. I wanted to put a practical application to the notion that the web is connecting us and bringing us together.
Some things have changed since I originally departed, but the wardrobe ...

Sean Gardener, columnist for the Huffington Post recently wrote this:
I've received hundreds of emails and tweets from people who were inspired by my blogpost, 16 Amazing Women on Twitter and the Awesome Charities they Support. But many also wanted to see a post about 16 men doing extraordinary work, and who value service and volunteerism. And, they wanted to hear about more nonprofits making a difference, and ...

For many, the idea of a cross continent road trip makes us cringe, but that’s not the case for Joseph Ranseth, a 30-year-old entrepreneur and social media 'evangelist'. He’s out to disprove the notion that technology distances us as a culture, and he’s traveling the distance to prove it.
In April 2009, Joseph set out on a road trip from Phoenix to Toronto. Using his cell phone to ...
