I made a promise that if the #12DaysOfGiving campaign managed to raise at least $2000 in support of our Day 5 featured charity (National Autism Association), I would dye my hair blue.
(I pretended that this was a big chore on my part - for the kids - but really I was excited to do this... I haven't had my hair blue since high-school)
Well, it took a little bit of creativity at the last moment (read this post if you want to guess), but we raised over $2100 for the National Autism Association... and an amazing total of $13,831 for all 12 charities involved. Well done everyone, thank you so much for being involved!
I did it... I Dyed It Blue
With some help from my good friend Andrea Robin, I managed to meet an amazing (and super generous) stylist named John at Sets on Fort who did an amazing job on making my hair blue.
Check it out:

Meet Dennis Crowley, our featured social good superstar for Day 2 of the #12DaysOfGiving challenge.
His Twitter profile (@dens) says simply:
"I like snowboards, foursquare and unemployment."
We think he's being modest, though. Not only is he the co-founder of Foursquare, but he was also on Family Feud.
(Yeah, there's lots of other impressive stuff that you can read on his site, but we ...

Okay, here's the deal, I'll make it quick: here's a really great chance to show the power of Social Media and help some very special kids in the process.
I'M NORMALLY A VAIN GUY...
...but I have gone over 7 months without a haircut. WOW!
I figure I deserve a prize, or money or some kind of a medal for this magnificent feat, especially considering how vain I am.
BUT, i'm ...

When I first launched the Social Media Adventure, I wanted to connect with online friends that I hadn't met in person. Very simply, I started driving and went to various cities meeting my social media acquaintances in real life.
The support was absolutely overwhelming, and more often than not I was asked the question by those I hadn't yet met in person:
When are you coming to my city? ...

Today was the best day ever. (Many reasons, but here's one of them)
When I started the Social Media Adventure I had one simple but powerful purpose:
To prove that social media has the power to develop authentic, genuine in-person relationships and help bring people together to make the world a better place.
Since then, I have been a passionate advocate of the belief that amazing things happen through social ...

I love Lake Tahoe!
Well, that is, except for the cold. :)
This was my first time in South Lake Tahoe, NV and I wasn't sure what to expect. After leaving Canada a few years ago I don't tolerate the cold much. Even in Phoenix I get a bit chilly when it drops below 70 degrees...
Anyway, back to the story. I ...

I get text messages and phone calls from social media connections from literally every continent (except Antarctica).
Then, a ...

I had to see if the rumors were true. They weren't.
"Those rumors", referring to all the buzz on the internet - including the Wall Street Journal - about AJ Bombers (A restaurant & pub in Milwaukee) being a really cool place to hangout and eat good hamburgers.
Well, it's not so much that the rumors were false, per se, ...

Yeah, I read the rules... "GIRLS ONLY!"
That just made me want to go even more. Well, not because of the girls, but because I had a flashback to those many times when my mother would say "you can't have a cookie." You know, it just made me want it even more. :)
To be honest, I wasn't PLANNING on crashing it. ...

Wow, Moab was HOT! :)
After a fantastic time in Salt Lake City & Provo, we took the Social Media Adventure to Southern Utah to visit Moab and Arches National Park. We were so sticky by the time we arrived in Moab... I don't think it ever cools off there! It was still 95 degrees at midnight by the time we checked into the ...
