Weekend in Sedona, Arizona – Enchantment Resort

Sedona Sunset - Sedona, Arizona
Occasionally, but not too often, I will be asked the question:
Joseph, why do you love Arizona so much?
I travel all over the continent in my shiny yellow car and I always seem to find myself back in Arizona before much time has passed since my last visit. This year, I have made 5 separate trips down here, and most of them last a lot more than a few days. (One of them was over a month)
The truth is that there are a bunch of reasons why I love Arizona.
In order to save someone from blushing, however, this post will be limited to one reason in particular: Sedona.
Sedona is a small, but famous-all-over-the-world, city located near the middle of Arizona. It’s about an hour and a half drive (yes, I was mostly following the speed limit) and since I was driving in the middle of the night, the stars were absolutely pristine, un-bothered by city lights.
The destination in Sedona was an exclusive luxury resort called The Enchantment. I hadn’t been there before, but I had heard so many good things about it that I had to have my own experience.
Let me tell you it was worth it. (And yes, it is a bit pricier than a Motel 6, but still… worth it!)
The resort is hidden away in a canyon, just a few miles outside of Sedona. When I drove through the gates, I felt as though I were entering the movie set of a fantasy story like Lord Of The Rings.
Instead of one hotel with hundreds of rooms, each guest gets a private casa with all the amenities. The best part was the balcony that overlooked the entire property, although the vaulted ceilings and the rustic fireplace were a great combination, too.
3 days in this paradise was enough to calm my nerves from a stressful trip down… and make me never want to leave.

It did get better though – they have a spa!
An hour on the massage table, with my best friend at the table beside me, was more of an e
xperience than I could have asked for if I had won the lottery. I was ready to drift away in a state of bliss, forgetting about all the responsibilities of daily life. *sigh*
Then I sat by the pool for a few hours and soaked up the sun. lol
Yes, life is good…
