It’s interesting to see the traffic that comes to this site and the search terms they use to find it.

Shortly after I published a post about wanting to date a country singer on my recent trip through nashville, I noticed that people were finding this site while googling “Country Artists Using Social Media” and I was a little perplexed. After all, I’m not really a big country fan. (Check out my blip station for proof: http://blip.fm/josephranseth)

But, you have to give the people what they want, so I decided to look into it. I sent out a tweet asking:

One of the first answers that came up was Rascal Flatts. Even those who aren’t even remotely interested in country music will know some Rascal Flatts songs. Being Canadian, I love their version of Tom Cochrane’s Life Is A Highway that was featured in the animated movie Cars.  Have you seen it?

Although the band is visible on many social media channels, it looks like bandmember @JayDeMarcus is actually interactive and tries to engage with his fans & followers. (Do you think he’ll comment on this post?)

Again, not being the biggest country fan, I hadn’t heard of Blake Shelton before, but according to @AshleyGross:

@BlakeShelton is crazy-active!

I checked him out and verified that he does manage his own twitter feed: @BlakeShelton. I don’t know about his other channels, but if you want to get to know the real BS, send him a tweet!

I have to admit, the video of his song Hillbilly Bone was enough to score thumbs up from me.
