TweetUp: AJ Bombers in Milwaukee, WI – Foursquare Swarm Badge

I recently read this awesome case study on How To Use Foursquare To Draw A Crowd Into Your Restaurant (or any local business for that matter) by Steffan Antonas (@SteffanAntonas).

The case study outlined how AJ Bombers – a burger restaurant in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin – capitalized on the Foursquare Swarm Badge to bring in a whole lot of customers to their location at a time that was normally slow. Over 300 people came for burgers and badges… The campaign was an overwhelming success and has gotten significant coverage in a variety of channels.

Do you know what I was thinking?

“I want one of those Bomber Burgers!”

(That, and “what a great idea to kick off the 2010 Social Media Adventure!”)

Let’s Meet… We Can Be Friends!

So, for the first stop on the 2010 Social Media Adventure (#SMA2010), I thought it would be a ton of fun to stop in at AJ Bombers and see what the fuss is all about. :)

Everybody knows that you can’t have a burger without bringing a few dozen of your closest friends, so with the help of Michelle Mangen (the greatest Virtual Assistant on the planet) we are going to be having a #Tweetup on Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010, 2-5pm! Can you make it?

Don’t You Want A Swarm Badge Too?

To be honest, what I was really thinking was “Holy Doodle! I want one of those Swarm Badges for my very own Foursquare profile!”

So, if you are in the Milwaukee area – or want to take an adventurous trip there on Tuesday – we’re going to try to re-create the foursquare flash mob and get everyone there a Swarm Badge!

If we make it, I’ll buy a round. :)

  • This is great! Thanks so much for the added exposure to your audience here. And the offer to buy the bar a round if we earn our 3rd Swarm badge is pretty unbelievably generous! It. Is. On. Sir.

  • Man, wish I could attend. Joe, sounds like Swarm badge #3 is right around the corner. :) Game on.

LOL, what was said in passing may end up getting cashed in on, huh?

I'm looking forward to it, whether I buy a round or not. :)

My offer still stands to deliver a burger for ya when #SMA2010 pulls through San Diego…

Do you think they sell a freeze-dried option of the Bomber Burger? 😉

  • hahhaa. ok. I'll ask Joe. Maybe he'll be willing to get creative for this
    special case.

Yes this is something I saw heavily in action at SXSW in Austin. Smart restaurants and biz used Foursquare brilliantly.

Now, to see the next creative use for it, tick tock, tick tock.

I'll have something for you by the end of next week. 😉
