Social Media Adventure Crashes “All Girls Tweetup” in Arizona!

Sunday, August 9, 2009 11:48

Yeah, I read the rules… “GIRLS ONLY!”

That just made me want to go even more.  Well, not because of the girls, but because I had a flashback to those many times when my mother would say “you can’t have a cookie.” You know, it just made me want it even more. :)

All Girls Tweetup... LOL

All Girls Tweetup... LOL

To be honest, I wasn’t PLANNING on crashing it.  I actually had the discipline to resist going (which is a miracle considering the fact that I knew that my Dream Girl @TamaraSchilling would be there) but then a cosmic change in plans happened….

Here’s how it went down:

  • I log on to twitter early in the morning to check the status of the universe
  • I get a message from the amazing man who produced the Social Media Adventure videos: Joe Pena of Joe Pena Productions. (@JoeTheProducer)
  • He tells me that he is in Arizona on business (he lives in Chicago) and wants to meet in person for breakfast
  • I say yes, but lunch only works for me…
  • I suggest the Paradise Bakery across the street from where I know the “all girls tweetup” is.  (Not to be cunning, but b/c @TamaraSchilling is attending the tweetup and we are going in the same car)
  • Neither Joe nor I can find the Paradise Bakey. :(
  • Joe calls and suggests we meet at the girls tweetup, so Tamara won’t be late.
  • We arrive and somehow the girls think it would be cool if we stuck around!
  • Fun times were had by all! :)
The Boyz :)

The Boys: Joe & Joseph

Joe is an amazing man.  He has an incredible story and is on a powerful mission with his business, Joe Pena Productions.  He is touching so many lives with the radio show that he hosts, check it out here: http://www.joepenaproductions.com/?cat=12 He is also one of THE most genuine people that I have ever met. Instantly I knew that he was a man that I could trust, and would easily endorse to anyone that I met. In fact, check out my endorsement of Joe here: http://www.joepenaproductions.com/?p=1616

In addition to Joe, some of the awesome people who were present were:

So, there it is. It rocks to be a boy when you crash an all-girls tweetup. :)

World Record Man-Made “Bishop’s Castle” visted by Social Media Adventure

Posted in category Denver

Every Social Media Adventure needs a magical castle, doesn’t it? :)

Yeah, we agree… so we took an awesome trip through the mountains outside of Pueblo, Colorado to an amazing hidden gem of a special attraction, Bishop’s Castle.

This castle is a hand-made creation of a single man, Jim Bishop. For over 30 years Jim has been building this castle by hand…with no outside help at all! Check out the wikipedia article for more information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bishop_Castle

Check out this video to see the view from “the top”! (well, what we thought was the top, and then the REAL top)

This structure is awe-inspiring and reminded us of the potential that we all have… we are all capable of achieving incredible things with the power that is within us! Sometimes it is a powerful exercise to see the accomplishments of others to remind us of our own potential.

What large thing can you do with your life?

Denver Tweetup – Fun memories with the Social Media Adventure!

Saturday, July 25, 2009 20:17
Zipline

Me on the zipline!

Talk about fun times… the tweetup in Denver was an absolute blast!  The weather was absolutely gorgeous, the sun was shining, the park was full of great people and the there was even a zipline! (Yeah, just check out the picture of me on that zipline to get an idea of a) how much fun we had, and b) what the highlight of the day was. Well for me at least.)

Oh yeah, and there were a ton of fun people who showed up. :)

Star of the show? The puppy!

Star of the show? The puppy!

Actually, the people were the best part… as is always the case.  There were a bunch of people that came & went during the few hours that we were there – and they were all awesome – but one family of note was the Todd & Julie Bonner Family.  They were so cute, they brought 2 of their 3 kids: Hannah & Aaron.

Be sure to follow Julie (@JulieBonner) & Todd (@DenverFlips) if you are on twitter! And, be sure to check out the video we shot at the park to meet their whole family… including the puppy dog!

Overall, we had an amazing time and are looking forward to moving on to our next stops and connecting with you in person! :)
